Pete has enjoyed playing cricket for Longwick since 1987, I’m sure the trip to the pub afterwards (and sometimes before) had little influence on his decision to take up the game!

His prowess with the bat has steadily increased over the years and although he regularly fills a lower order spot he hits the ball hard and defends resolutely when the circumstance require.  His highest score of 53 not out shows he has ability above his normal batting position.  With 30% of all Pete’s innings resulting in a not out he is a rock when a game needs saving.

For many years Pete has worn the keepers gloves and done an excellent job, he is surprisingly agile but balls down the leg side often results in the adoption of his semi stretched prone position, a little like a large cat relaxing by the fire.  Good old Bagpuss.

Pete is a key member of the club, contributing both on and off the pitch, he writes all our Parish News letter articles, organizes the annual BBQ’s and is one of most intelligent and likable guys you will ever meet.
